Uhh, people play more than just FPS and RTS games.
wow thats like saying that without god there would be no people today but god is fake therefore people are still around. since people are still here god has to be fake because the absence of him is what allows us to be here.
so have fun nintendo and praise them because they didnt make console gaming and console gaming is still here therefore nintendo does not exists

youre a fucking god damn retard, that is the most psuedo intellectual pis poor excuse as to why nintendo did not truely start console gaming. you post modern bastard. i would have agreed if you maybe said if nintendo didnt do it, someonelse would have but your just stumbling around your own words, and your little comparison does not compare at all.

This is close to what happened on the other side of the Atlantic--C64s, Atari STs and Amigas were much more popular than Nintendo's early consoles. And it was good, for some reason the barrier to entry of booting WorkBench, GEM, etc. eliminated most fanboys.
Speculative, but this might be why the UK has a reasonably good games development industry. It's not easy, but at least you _can_ program an Amiga if you have the inclination.

you really need a fucking history lesson about consoles.
atari 2600's nearly killed the console industry and without nintendo there wouldnt have been any interest by any other company to keep testing the waters.
take it from an old salt. nintendo saved your console world and now you cant accept that fact... >>13
i'm talking consoles. not pc's you stupid limey motherfucker.

Yes, but my point is that for a few years, almost nobody played games on consoles in the UK. Computers were much more popular. i.e. Consoles are not a necessity, so if Nintendo hadn't resurrected them, it wouldn't have been a huge loss.
UK changed back to consoles with the Playstation I think.
