Yes, Rappelz is fun. The PvP is pretty good, although a lot of high level players like to gank newbies for no real reason 'cept to show off their e-phalli. Another notable aspect of the game is the epic soundtrack. Also, it takes less time to level up than in other games such as WoW.

Its graphics are better than WoW (although it's much more demanding of your cpu), the community isn't as bad as most MMORPGs, there's plenty of variety, and there's no monthly fees! However, if you want really good stuff you need to buy the "cash shop" items. This system is still better than monthly fees because you won't feel the need to get your money's worth.

5 here. I agree, mostly. Leveling up is quite different. Leveling in WoW is no feat. Its fast and easy. I dont know how it is in TBC as I quit playing before. I got 2 60, 2 59 and a 47. Whereas in rappelz leveling is long outside dungeons and fast inside, up to a point. At 50+ it takes quite a bit of time and is very boring as the time it needs to level up increases significantly and thus the time spend to kill the same monsters.

Anyway, I tried nearly all "good" free-to-play MMORPGs and rappelz is the best currently out there. Though 2 games that are soon to be released seem promissing.
If you want a free to play rappelz is a very good choice. :)

Not for striders. :) I have an Asura Strider with the skill "Bloody Blade" which heals ~40% of the damage it inflicts, and it has a good physical attack bonus and doesn't use much mana. Its cooldown time is 1 minute 30 seconds, but I don't need to heal too often because striders have good evasion bonuses, so even when fighting mobs that are a few levels higher than me, they don't hit too often.

With this I can gain levels really fast while soloing without having to rest or spend money on potions/scrolls to heal.
