The post count on GameFAQs is not shown to other users, also, only active posts are counted, and threads are removed after a while.

As for karma, it is proportional to how long it's been since you registered and how active you are (to an upper limit which is reached by visiting the site every day) -- meaning there is little you can do to increase it.
