I'm already bored with Morrowind and Oblivion and need something new to waste my time. It can't be animufag-esque like FF. Also, Fable is made of fail and stupid, so don't recommend it.

If "single-player" doesn't refer to number of npcs that can join you then I would suggest replaying Baldur's Gate 2. No, I'm serious! Nowdays you won't be able to find a CRPG which even compares to BG-BG2, PS:T, Fallout1-2, IWD... Or maybe you'll like Newerwinter Nights II

bg2 hands down
was nothing better ever made
if it needs to be new and shiny, go with nwn2 .. it's a long shot from bg2 in terms of usability tho - camera + party member controls suck, party banter is not nearly as funny as bg2.
but the game is good enough overall to easily overlook that, if you can get past the first few hours and let it pull you in.
Fable was good while it lasted. It didn't last very long however (took me about 20 hours, and thats with doing a fair bit of extra stuff) which is why it failed. If Fable 2 is 2-3 times as long, it'll be much better.
