And I must say the community is even worse than that in Runescape. Being new to the game and all, I don't know all of the places in Azeroth, so I tried asking some different people for directions. The only replies I got were things like "gtfo noob" or "figure it out yourself, noob". Noob, noob, noob. What a great bunch of people, eh?

you need to learn that any MMORPG that involves lots of grinding will be full of 12 year olds who think that a high level means they are superior to everyone else. the solution is to play a game that isn't mindless, because said 12 year olds won't be able to handle it, so the community will be better.

Those who can, teach.
Those who can't, type "lern2play".

In MMORPG land, the higher your level, the bigger your penis.
In real life, the higher your level in an MMORPG, the smaller your penis.

well you need to figure it out like the rest of us did the first time we played it. once you get to lvl 50 or so you get tired of people who cant play the game right, trust me.

So being uptight warrants unnecessarily negative comments? Hey, at least I was being civil, but the immature elitist players I kindly asked questions were real asses. I wasn't even begging for money or anything. Just asking where a certain town is, or something like that. You're saying no one ever helped you in the time you played, and that not once had you asked someone about something in the game? Okay. "...People who can't play the game right..." I'm sure you knew everything about WoW the minute you started playing, right? Also, WoW doesn't really require skill, just a lot of free time, which I'm sure a basement-dwelling unemployed loser like you has plenty of.

I remember when i first started playing, i was like, level 6 or something heading out of coldridge to find ironforge for some quest. a 60 came up, helped me quest, gave me some runecloth bags and ported me to ironforge, all free of charge etc. that single act of kindness still sticks with me to this very day. because of him, i always help low levels and stuff.
i guess the point im trying to make is, that not everyone are assholes, you just have to have a bit of faith in humanity.
good luck.

I don't have WoW, but I've definitely been thinking of getting it. Everyone raves about it.
But in any MMORPG, it's all about HOW the noob asks for guidance or help. When they walk up and nag away for spare change, extra tools/weapons/food etc....that's when I wish you could just straight up murder their player. But if said noob walks into a room and says "Hey, which way to HD:HF:HD:S?" Then it's not much trouble to say "Head South....Noob"

No, I just got bored really quickly. It's just like every other MMO I've played, only a few things are better. However, the grinding is so boring. I reached around level 23 and got tired of killing boars and Murlocs for hours on end with very little results.
when i first started wow people wouoldnt tell me anything, it took me forever yto figure things out or what the hell i was doing. so lioke the the 'noob' i was i just read the book.

Books no longer relevent. Frankly its a damn basic game.
It varies by server. I find that the PVE servers in WoW have fairly decent communities-both in game and on the server forums- while the PVP realms are all just ganking kiddies flexing their epeens.

If you read the entire thread you'd see the OP already quit this shitty game.
Honestly, I used to play WoW quite a bit and I was the guild master of a pretty decent guild. I got so sick of the attitudes of the average WoW player towards other people that I basically drove the guild to it's doom by kicking people who didn't have an attitude, now don't get me wrong kidding around is quite fine but actually bragging about what you told "sum n00b" who "didnt evn now how to go to if" was an instant kick.
Now the reason this basically destroyed the guild isn't because people were upset because of this, it's because all the fucking tards I ended up kicking were the most experienced and even though they weren't skilled, they'd played the game a lot and knew a lot about how to raid and such.
Needless to say I realised how shitty WoW was slightly after and destroyed my account, albeit without actually messing up anyone else's stuff like the guild bank which is what some of the people I kicked would have done.
