Why does Atlus keep releasing shitty games?

Name: Anonymous 2006-06-09 7:00

How is it possible this company is still in business?

All they ever do is release mediocre games to the quality deprived masses.

You know, people who say "everygame is good best game ever".

And Atlus released them in small quantities so they have insane ebay prices.

LOL Atlus

LOL Quality Deprived fags who think shit like katamari is top notch shit

You're just quality deprived

Hmm, I believe the JAPANESE branch of Atlus developed and published the Megami Tensei games.

Megami Tensei = Good setting/atmosphere, shitty game.

The AMERICAN branch of Atlus brings Atlus JAP (and others) developed games over to the States.

>>1 said Atlus releases games in small quantities. A bit like Working Designs AMIRITE? One difference though, is that WD wasted time and resources on adding all that extra shit and bonuses.

If that's so, then even shitty anime games get overpriced by dumbass deprived fags. Habeeb it, Lunar's an okay game, but not one I would pay $$$ for.

The real question therefore is: How the fuck does Atlus USA make profit from games nobody (except waps) cares about?

Maybe that's how they do it: Localize mediocre Japanese RPGs, release it in small quantities to push up the price (i.e. profit), wapanese gamer thinks "wow this game is jap + rare, therefore this game = good, delicious game i must buy it".

That's my theory.

If Atlus did what Working Designs did, and added all that cardboard manual/guides, extra bonus CDs, inserting their lame jokes into the townspeople dialogues... then they would've went under a long time ago.
