Fallout sucks.

This was supposed to be my favorite game. It is. The plot is perfect, the battles are perfect, the characters are perfect, the nonlinearity is perfect. Everything is perfect.

Except the very game itself.

Every single task I'm told to accomplish is a "when you get older" task. I'll be able to get the water chip when I get older. And I'll be able to get into the city that contains the water chip when I get older. And I'll be able to kill the guards to that city when I get older. And I'll be able to gain enough experience to kill those guards once I get old enough to join the group that will offer me the battles that can get me enough experience. And I'll be able to join that group once I kill these guys who I can't kill until I get enough experience from killing these other guys.

It's just a chain of never ending tomorrows, when tomorrow ends in 100 days.

Did I miss something? I talk to everyone, I know all the tasks, I know what I have to do. I simply am not able to do any of it because I do 10 damage with a burst fire machine gun and my entire team was killed by a single mutant by punching us repeatedly.

Fallout sucks guys.

>>Level up on some easy tasks and try bluffing your way out of  fight occasionally.

There's the problem. I have a very high intelligence and charisma and I can sweet talk situations, but I CAN'T FIND ANY SITUATIONS TO SWEET TALK. It seems like everything demands large amounts of killing or some mysterious and puzzling case which I absolutely can't do.

I have 10,000 monies but can't find any small arms to buy. I went to the gun dealers but all they had were huge guns and lasers which I don't think are even small arms, since I suck with them.

I've leveled like twice so far. I'm astonished at how slow you level in this game. Experience is few and far between and the experience needed is sky-high. It really seems like I can't do anything but wait for the water to run out and go on caravan trips.

Thanks for the advice though. Maybe I'll go 100 miles back to Junktown to try to finish up that gang crap to get a few dozen exp. :(
