Dungeon crawlers

I can never stand these games for long.  You're in a claustrophobic dungeon.  All the walls look the same.  You kill things.  There's no one to talk to.  There's no real music.  You and your party members never show any personality or motivation.  You have an annoying drag and drop interface.  Everything is done one step at a time.  Combat is very slow.  You hope that someday you will find sunlight and the game will be over.  Games like Dungeon Master, Bloodwych, etc.  Who plays these games?  Does anyone actually consider them fun?

I'm talking about the old first person shit.  Eye of the Beholder, Bard's Tale, Wizardry, Might & Magic, and all the shit it inspired.

The main drag is the interface.  Running around repetitivly killing stuff is like, what a quarter of games are about.

Anyone remember Moraff's World?  That guy did it right.

I had Dungeon Master for SNES.  Losing health by bumping in to walls was the best part.  Other than that it was no fun.
