Why do people spooge all over final fantasy?

I mean, I played and enjoyed final fantasy games back in the day. But these games expire, just like most other games. Certain games age well, and can be played easily years after release, like terranigma. But nothing really good has come out of final fantasy that's been worth sticking around for so long.

Why do people still like this shit?

Why do people keep buying those sports games that get boring really quick?

Why do people like games where you drive around in circles for hours?

Why do 2D fighters still have a following when 3D fighters are so much more fun?

Its all taste. I like Final Fantasies and other JRPGs because of the characters and stories, and because they usually throw in a good 20+ hours worth the stuff to do aside from the main quest.
