Why do people spooge all over final fantasy?

I mean, I played and enjoyed final fantasy games back in the day. But these games expire, just like most other games. Certain games age well, and can be played easily years after release, like terranigma. But nothing really good has come out of final fantasy that's been worth sticking around for so long.

Why do people still like this shit?

I could say the same to you for prefering 2D fighters over 3D fighters. I can't play a 2D fighter for more than an hour (unless its Super Smash Brothers, but that's not exactly your average fighting game), but I can play most quality 3D fighters all night.
