Emulation And ? about Isos

Name: Anonymous 2006-05-15 19:20

I was Backing up some of my ROM Files from Old Genisis Games(what a Pain that is) When I Started Looking into newer Emulation...

Ive seen All kinds of Emulators Out there Like Genisis SNES Atari and Even Gameboy and N64 Emulators... I Have found Sega Saturn and Dreamcast(see question on Dreamcast Isos) Emulators... but I cant Get them to work... Anyone Know Better Dreamcast or Saturn Emus? and I cant even find half working DS, GameCube, Xbox Or PS2 Emus... at least none that play More than one Comercial Game...

As For My Question with Dreamcast... I have a DC and I want to Play DC Games on my Computer since My DC has Issues with The internal Battery... so I was wondering if there's an Emulator that will let me Play Dreamcast Cds Right from my CD Drive and if not How Can I Rip the Iso so that I can play it...

I had the same problems with DC emulators. I don't think any of them can play DC games right off the disc. If I remember correctly, the reason why it has to be an ISO image was because the emus can only run games that have been hacked to boot easily. There were some free software that emulation sites recommended to make DC game Iso's with the boot-thing, but I didn't get any of those to work myself.

I think it doesn't work because GD-ROMs read out to in, rather than your standard in to our.  You might be able to boot of the disc, but you probably need to do some setup with your pc to make it run out to in.
