Yes. The Wii. Though I ponder greatly about Nintendo's decision of renaming the Revolution to one of a less digestible name, I think it's important to note esp. in this discussion that such trivial characteristics are of no interest to me. What has been running throughout my mind are the technical specs of Wii. No doubtly, such specs are wee in contrast to the other two console juggernauts. But, could such a weakness be a strength for Nintendo?
The costs of producing a game are rising as gamers are demanding realistic graphics, more explosions on the screen, and as much jiggly boobery as possible to the point of reticular breakdown.
What I am getting at, my fellow 4channing sophisticates, is that I wish for you to think about these questions... Will 3rd party developers be more attracted to Nintendo's Wii because it will cost less to produce and develope? (afterall, Nintendo isn't known for their 3rd developer love) Because, looking at the specs of Wii (2x the Gamecube as opposed to PS3's 3-5x the PS2) will games created for this console be cheaper to produce? Will indy games for next gen consoles be more likely on Wii than any other next gen console? Will we see less in-game advertisments on Wii games than any other console?
This thread does not tolerate fanboyism and flaming. I don't care if Nintendo dies or rises because of Wii. I don't care if Sony pwns Nintendo. I DO care if there's a babe booth massacre at E3 however, so if you talk about that, go right on ahead. Just ponder and ponder.
