Kinda like the way the penny arcade kids Gabe and Tychow like to  position themselves by praising everything they criticize so no one really sees the layers of shit they're piling. But I assure you, there are those who can smell it.

My eyes weep having spent anymore time on that website. I was attempting to find the comic where the fat kid with glasses talks to his neice on some instant messaging program and he regards himself with a false sense of pride while attempting to mock anyone who isn't like him. I suppose he needs to feel some false sense of accomplishment if it makes him feel special about himself.
