My friend just got an N64 from this old lady off of Craigslist. I'm helping him compile a list of games that he should get for it. I know the standards: Goldeneye, Super Smash Brothers, etc. But, could any of you throw out some other good N64 games?

Mario Cart 64, Super Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (duh), The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (stfu, I liked it), Perfect Dark. Of course, these should all be on your list already.
Yoshi's Story and Bomberman 64 are pretty good as well.
Yep, they all are. Thing is we can't find Mario Kart for the life of us. We live in Seattle, and apparently some huge fucking nerd goes around to each and every video game store and buys every single copy of Mario Kart. Fucking douchebag. Also, I put Mischief Makers on the list because robotic maids = instawin.

^Fuck this newbie bullshit
Space Station Silicon Valley
Body Harvest
Banjo-Kazooie
Jet Force Gemini
A little warning on Body harvest there. I personally like the game, but I understand those who hate it. The controls are clunky and some stuff on the levels is tiring, mostly all the indoor areas and the last level in its entirety. It is fun but don't expect a hidden masterpiece. Think something like a very early beta of GTA 3 with aliens.

Is Ogre Battle 64 worth playing or should I stick with the PS version for its branching paths?

Isn't 64 the one that plays like FFT? I think that's the one where Deneb runs a fruit stand of sorts, that of course carries only pumpkins.
Actually it fails for not mentioning the Turok and Extreme-G series.

I ignored the entire lifespan of the N64. Therefore I will have much to catch up on. Oh, and the Saturn too, but that will make me broke.

Saturn is >>> all
As for N64. Zelda is nice if you like the style.

wasn't the sega saturn the biggest failure of any gaming console ever? that's what I heard.
Saturn had it's moments but n64 beat it with the raw fact that you could spend so many afternoons after school back in the day playing with 3 other people in a handful of fun games.
Let us not forget The Legend of the Mystical Ninja 64. Fun times.

You've only played the first I see.
What's most depressing about the series is when it made the jump from 64 to computer it was a straight-up port, coded to the hexadecimal. ;_;
I can play Oblivion with full options and no lag, and before that I could play Morrowind the same way. Whatever gave Iguana the idea that leaving the fog in and giving no option to turn it off was a good idea, especially when even back then its requirements were considered light?
The range doubles for Turok II, and goes out another 50% for the final two. But the ports still have the #$*&ing fog.
Sucks, they had such great weapons on that too. I'd like Iguana to remake the series once UT07 comes out.
