Let's resurrect Ultima Online

So ok, some people loved UO but it got shitty for whatever reasons and they quit. But all you who have once played it know it deep inside - you can't escape it. It calls out to you every day, sometimes louder, sometimes quieter.

Anyway, through extensive cooperation with veterans who browsed /v/, we found UO Gamers: Hybrid(http://www.uogamers.com), a Renaissance based shard which runs on RunUO. So, some people will start with UO again, I hope, and we can all merryly form a guild and gank people or something, whatever. Here are some easy steps to get you going:

Anyway, IF THIS IS TRUE THEN HERE IS WHAT YOU DO:
1)Download&Install UO
http//www.downl/...
2)Download&Install Razor(you'll also need to have .NET Frameworks for this)
http://www.runuo.com/razor/
3)Start Razor, select 2D client and UO Gamers:Hybrid
4)Login(account creates automatically), create char aaaaand
5)Profit!

Also, just for coordination, post which char you'll make!

Wouldn't it be nice if we created an IRC-channel as well? It would be easier to set up events and stuff like that, and help people who has problems/newbies.

I did, it was giving me some crap about not being able to find the client, even when pointed directly to it.
UOGateway has worked fine.

Razor isn't working, even after downloading .net framework and manually pointing to the client.

A couple other problems, while installing I got an error in the sound.mul file, could that cause any problems?.
Is there any other way than to use UOgateway? I'd rather not have to add another 500MB to a 1 GB download, running low on disk space.

I also checked the forums for Razor, there have been several posts on this problem and no answers.

Ok nevermind the uogateway thing in the last post, I guess they were talking about virtual ram requirements. But now I have another problem, when I try running uogateway I get an error saying "A required .DLL file, MSVBVM60.DLL, was not found,"

Now whats going on?

Maybe something to do with VB runtime files? Or maybe that it requires IE to run.
You could just google the .Dll and download it and stick it in the UOGateway folder. It might pick it up.

Okay... now I get the file I needed and can't get gateway to recognise the client.

I haven't had this much trouble getting a game to run since I was trying to run Half-Life on an ATI video card.

Well, after looking at the gateway FAQ, it looks like my problem may be that sound file error I got, so it looks like I get to download that 700MB installer again.

Well after more hassle than ANY game I've EVER played I finally was able to log onto the server. I have no idea what I'm doing, but the game looks promising.

Channel is 4ch, it's right about UOGamers Demise under UOGamers Hybrid. Lots of fucking channels, so find it and you should be all set. Password for the 4ch channel is lolimoot
