Nintendo - Still discussing the whole downloadable games from NES to the N64, and there are confirmed ports in the back (possibly front?) of the console allowing for up to 4 GCN controllers. Rev controller looks interesting, could possibly be another gimmick...but I bought the DS and enjoy it so far.
Sony - I heard somewhere that full backwards compatability was included at launch and had been confirmed. Controller: Haven't tested it yet, looks like it's simply a more stylized PS2 controller. If it's made with the PSP buttons and Dualshock sticks, that'll suck.
XBox (accurately named XBrick) - rumors of MS discontinuing XBox games and moving directly to the 360 have been mentioned. Backwards compatability will only be available for some games (think: Xbox Greatest Hits), and you're screwed otherwise. Controller: Tested it at a local retailer today, it's VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. The shoulder buttons require a lot of index-finger stretching, the stick is oddly placed, it's just an uncomfortable layout.
I'm buying PS3, possibly Revolution if it has a bunch of interesting games on it, and I could download Mario Paint, Mischief Makers, and a few others. PS3 looks like the top contender based on that.
