FFVI System File

So I was looking at my old 1337 save on FFVI, and as you may know, when you beat the game you get access to little extras (bestiary, full potential of each character, etc).  In my save, every character has learned every single spell.  Yet, when I check the character stats in the system file, every character is reported as having only learned 53 of the game's 54 spells-they're all missing Merton (even though they all actually HAVE Merton).  Anyone had similar experiences/have advice, etc?

You have to update the system file. Go beat the game again, keep a save before Kefka or something for future updating. I had (have?) an old outdated system file but I could never update it because my scratched disc froze during the ending. :(
