Just as a thought, how about we tip eachother off on some fun games and where to get them here? Allways nice to try something different when you grow bored of your old games.

Dragon Court (Browser based rpg) @ www.ffiends.com is quite fun if you want to waste some time now and then.

Maple Story (2d platform/action mmorpg) @ www.mapleglobal.com is a pretty nice anime-style mmorpg.

also be sure to check out www.the-underdogs.org for abandonware games :] i stop by there once in a while when i want a retro kick.

Flyff is generic and boring, grind fest at overcrowed areas, it was more fun then Rose but would rather see this game have some kind of P2P to reduce freeloaders or more servers so leveling areas arent overcrowed but alas that wont happen

Name: Anonymous 2005-09-06 0:38

yeah....its no WoW, but its free, what do you expect? You could always just DL anarchy online...they went free for the non-expansion versions, but not everyone is into the whole futuristic perspective

what this is you're playing a beatmania clone online with other people. complete with viewing others levels, chat, and six player mode, i think eight in total.
only thing is, everything is in japanese.
well that's what this link is for,
http://www.worldlingo.com/en/websites/url_translator.html
just paste the url in there, and put japanese to english. leave this window open for now, you'll need it.
first, here are the system requirements,
http://www.worldlingo.com/S9M7KdqhsbwbxnS8JKzNpCdNJiak_k9Ya/translate

now, open another online window and go to the site below,
http://www.netmarble.jp/
on the left side there is a spot for a person to log in. underneath that should be a picture of a pencil writing on a paper, click it.
now this is what the translator is, copy the url to http://www.worldlingo.com/en/websites/url_translator.html
which should be open, put the setting from japanese to english. this shows you the whole layout and where to fill in your id and such. NOTE, don't fill out your info on the english page, it won't work. that's why you need all these windows open.
another note, when filling out the needed info a mini window will pop up. be sure to use the same id on both required boxes, this will lessen the confusion when you try and log in. insert a name and you should click the left side button. more words will come up then push the bottom button for an OK. if you keep getting a windows error while doing this, it's telling you that the name is taken. once you're done with all of that, push the large purple button underneath the form.
now the next page is the confirmation page of your info, now click the left button below this info. and another page will come about after this, click the bright pink button with the exclamation mark.
loading, loading, and done, you're in. play along with this site if you want, push START to play the slot. don't worry, this is a free gaming site. this will be used on your avatar. if not, push the huge button on the bottom.
there, you're logged in. now open another window and paste the following link,
http://game.netmarble.jp/cpsite/djmax/download/down_01.asp
download DJ open edition, and the bottom download for the type of cpu you have. once saved in your cpu, find them and run them.
when you're done installing them go to this page,
http://game.netmarble.jp/cpsite/djmax/index.asp
log in, then press game start.
now here is where things get fuzzy, when you push GAME START a window with a pic of the dino on top will pop up. this is the wierd online installer. NOTE: on some cpu's it could appear to be cut off on the right side, don't worry. on the right is a button in where you which to save the program, choose desktop for now. below in the box ar two little boxes, check them.
look, it be trail and error at this point. it's only a couple of buttons that you could be off, but keep trying.
if succesful, you'll see a progress bar. this is loading up and saving the program DJ max. this will take a while, i think 20-50 minutes.
as you wait remember,
alt+control+delete
use this once the you are inside the game, you need to exit cause since all the text is japanese the letters might up being seen as an empty box. this is becuase you need to restart your cpu.
once done, DON'T FREAK OUT. a wierd huge window will pop up from windows, click the bottom left button to launch the game.
the first time launch of DJ max, most of the text in the game will be those non-inputted text, restart your cpu.
IMPORTANT NOTE, to play DJ max you have to go and log in again on netmarble.jp, click on the icon of DJ max, and press the game start icon. it'll launch right away, click the bottom left button again to luanch when the windows thing overtakes the screen.
in the main menu, you can pick by playing with five keys or seven keys. pick five keys please, it's eaiser. on the right side are the lobby rooms and the number of people shown as a bar.
inside a room is this whole layout,
on the left are the people in the room with you.
in the middle are rooms with people in it.
on the way right is the gameplay modes,
freeplay is freeplay
ranking is where you'll need to go. this is where you level up and earn points to avatars and other stuff.
on the bottom right are your options.
the wrench is your gameplay controls, video, controls, volume,
shop is well, the shop to buy stuff.
the message bubble is for private chat and adding friends.
the arrow that's all turned is the back button.
for now and mostly always pick ranking mode,
here's where time plays out. as you scroll through the songs you have to download them like in FlashFlashRevolution. except once they're downloaded they stay that way and you can pick them on anytime. as you browse the songs list pick the ones with only a ring circleN the logo. these are the ones that are free, the ones with the words premium is for those that put money into thier account. there's a lot to download though. your cpu won't run any slower due to this.
but yeah, this is the whole layout of putting in DJ max.
if you need anymore info reply to this topic, don't message me.
also some things might be mispelled or not make sense cuz i don't feel like reading through this again. if you notice any mistakes that lead you to confusion, let me know.

if you happen to be lucky enough to complete and be able to play DJ max, here is my gamertag on the site,
loveddevol

if you are unable to do the log in process i got an extra account on the site on the site that i'm willing to give, by the name of,
ulala2alala

netmarble.jp
is an online free gaming site for japanese gamers, pretty much any type is here to play online with others. the only ones i know of are the game types like DANCE, MMORPG, and some PUZZLE games.

I dunno if it's still free or not, but Infantry Online was pretty fun. 4 or 5 years ago, it was completely free. Last time I checked, if you didn't subscribe you could only access certain levels and had a Guestname. Oh well. You can find Infantry Online at whatever that Sony Station website is.

An extra word of warning: The updates download at about 2k/sec, so the first time you run the game, log in, start the game, and go do something else for a few hours.

Name: Anonymous 2006-01-29 17:03

OMG... then, despite installing 120+ MB of nothing in particular, you have to download every song you play!!!

0.3%... loading... This is NOT because it's in Japan, because I routinely download things at least at 40-50kps from JP...
