Are you talking about Beni-Hana's? They use oversaturated fatty fish from the warm waters of Mexico. You need real sushi that's had a hard life in the cold, cold seas.

Do you really want to support the Japanese economy in times like these? Buy American, buy a hamburger.
I go to a place called Ichiban Japanese Buffet in Canton, OH which costs $15 for dinner. That includes all you can eat bars, sushi/sashimi and hibachi dishes. I have paid up to $30 for an all you can eat sushi event on New Years once. It all depends on the quality. I can easily eat over $30 doing it by the piece so cheaper for a slight drop in quality is acceptable for just going out to eat.
