VGA cable

When I connect my lappy to the TV with a VGA cable it doesn't use the whole TV screen - there's black borders. Is this a limitation of the cable?

It's an integrated video card - Intel integrated 900 media accelerator.

No it is probably because of the differences in resolution. Your TV has got a higher resolution than your laptop.
