Virus - Looking for help /comp/

Name: Anon. 2012-03-25 0:59

So just recently I got a new virus. "Abnow". Every time I click on a search engines link, I will be redirected to an abnow.com site that will not load. Irritated, (because I need help with my assignments and partially rely on the internet search engines for it), I went on my phone. However, my phone is painstakingly slow on the internet due to low signal. So far from what I read, Abnow edits your systems settings/etc.

I need help /comp/, can someone please post ways to fix this virus without system restore? I cannot lose any documents.

What I tried:

Downloaded SpyHunter 4. No success with actual cracked version.
Scanned entirely with:
SUPER Anti-Spyware
SpyBot Search-And-Destry

Currently scanning completely with Spyware Terminator.

I searched my registry via regedit.

I'm at the end of my wits.

This current scan picked up a new issue I haven't seen before in previous scans, so i'm hoping when I click "Fix Selected" this issue will be resolved.

"Cannot lose any documents"
How to into partitions? You shouldn't ever only have one partition. You should have at least 2. One for documents, one for the OS so that when it comes time to wipe all the sludge off, you won't lose anything.

My recommendation is that if you have some sort of flash media or external drive or another machine, backup your shit and try to reinstall your OS from a freshly made partition properly, with a separate partition.

Bootup a linux live cd, transfer your important files to an external HDD, format reinstall

Alternatively try MSE

Is there a way in win 7 to make partitions once you have already installed the OS? I remember in XP there was magic partition but it doesn't work in win 7.

Can you do it with gparted?

I don't use w7 so I honestly don't know. I recommend backing up and wiping your drive clean to get rid the fuck of 7 and install something else.

I assume there is a way to do it but the thought of using Vista/7/2008 makes me cringe. You can always backup your files and try partitioning the drive (preferably after clearing the drive of your backed up files and defragging), there is still the issue of the virus and where it all is and how it can resurface in your install, none of which is anything I'm aware of currently so I would fully sterilize the disk unless you're certain you managed to get rid of it.
