Hi. I think I have a big problem. And I'm too stupid to understand or finding the solution to this myself. I've been searching my ass of for a solution the latest 3 days.
TO THE PROBLEM:
I bought an ASUS radeon 6950 2gb a week ago. Ofcourse my shitty 5 year old Zalman 600 watt did not puke out enough power to fuel this card. So I bought a Newton R2 800W
(http://www.fractal-design.com/?view=product&prod=28)
I have not recieved this PSU yet, but as I was reading some reviews on the unit, they said that it only has a single rail 12V, and it will not power any graphic cards that require any 12V PCI-e connections.
I realize that I may have bought something that I cannot use and consult my friends. They say it will be able to power my card (probably). I don't believe them. But I have no idea how these things work.
Probably I'm bad at searching for a solution, because all the forums I've visited regarding PSUs only copy the producers specifications on the product.
So. The questions I would like to ask:
1) Did I make a shitty buy (regarding the PSU)?
2) If yes to previous question. What should I be looking for?
Help me, please! I am in dire need of some pure knowledge on the subject.
