Guys, about a week ago I had a sugary drink spilled on the keyboard of my laptop. The laptop is fine, but the keyboard has become sticky and annoying to use. Yesterday I disassembled the keyboard (as seen on p16 of this guide ftp://ftp.packardbell.com/pub/itemnr_old/CS013A00/iPower_GX_Disassembly_Manual.pdf) and carefully washed each individual button with just warm water on a rag. It worked at the time, but overnight the keys got sticky again.
I plan to disassemble it again but this time use dish washing liquid as well, which would require me to rinse it under the tap afterward. I would try to keep the flat cable attached to its back dry and obviously wait long before putting the laptop together again.
Is this a good idea? Do I risk further damage? Should I use any other method?
Tldr: How best wash keyboard?
Thanks.
