Media organizer/tagging software

Any suggestions on software for tagging/organizing/categorizing media files (photos, video)? Have over 2T of videos and photos, need to tag/categorize, and store some metadata with them.

Linux is absolute requirement, cross-platform on Mac would also be nice.
