Should I be wary of using a government funded security module in my OS? I don't do anything illegal, although I do take security seriously, and do not like being ignorant about security in my OS.
It seems as though the only way to be completely certain about your security is by coding your own security modules/firewalls, because of the bias in government funded / commercially funded programs. Does anyone else understand my frustration? What do you guys use for security?

tl;dr no one can be trusted, how keep computer safe?

It's fucking open source. This means you can study how it works. Study computer science and electrical engineering.
