It won't if you're familiar with the Unix/Linux command line. Otherwise you're going to have to invest some time learning. Either way, it's definitely a good investment as you'll more or less have a private proxy all to yourself.

A vpn can mean many things, but generally it means securely connecting two networks/computers together as if they were on the same physical lan.
