Windows XP SP2. After installing Windows IME, the positioning and content of the task bar has become increasingly erratic on each subsequent start-up.
Toolbars are sometimes sized incorrectly in major ways - the quick launch bar covering the whole task bar, for example - or minimized programs simultaneously occupy two toolbar groups. Additionally, there are always options for up to three language tool bars; some times, there are also that many tool bars visible but only one of them has the actual language bar and the rest are blank. If I'm lucky I can turn all the extraneous toolbars off, but only if I'm lucky.
Has anyone else ever slogged their way through this inconvenience? Someone suggested a registry editing solution to the problem but, while that may have shown some improvement in the past, it no longer works.
