Boot time myth

I heard a myth that if you have less icons on the desktop then the boot time will be increased as there are less things to load. Is this true?

Umm, if the amount of items on your desktop made any noticeable difference, it would be the opposite, but in practice, the amount of icons (not to be confused with startup programs) don't make any real differenceo n modern computers
