Need a new computer

Name: Anonymous 2009-11-27 0:09

So I'm going to build a new computer, but I'm having trouble figuring out what parts I want.  I've had good luck with intel and nvidia, so I think I'll go with them again.  My real problem is trying to balance the power vs. cost scale, and making sure the parts are compatible.  Compatibility is something I just know nothing about.  I'm giving myself a $1,000 - $1500 budget for this.  Only things I'm saving from my current computer are the monitor and the larger of my two hard drives (the smaller one is near the end of its life).  I'm trying to get this decided soon so I can take advantage of all the holiday deals. Any ideas guys?
P.S.  I'll check back with this thread after I get back from work in 11-ish hours.

If I where you I'd buy AMD, while they have a history of overheating these problems have been solved for 10+ years, it's just the intel fanboys that will tell you otherwise. If you want the top of the line you have to buy intel, but if your looking for a midrange processor AMD will give you much more bang for your buck
