Help with computer?

How do I make my XP laptop remember it has speakers?  It stopped detecting them a few days ago.  Also, if I don't reply, it means 4chan is preventing me from replying with its Javascript cookies etc error.  I find it hideously ironic that it detects my replies as spam but lets spam right through.  Please help, this is bugging the piss out of me.
