How do I fix?

Internet Explorer has been freezing up on me lately so I loaded Firefox and went through all the steps necessary to have it set as my default browser (I think).

But when I connect to the internet through Netzero (My ISP) it still loads my home page in IE and everything starts erroring out the wazoo.

How do I fix?

BTW my operating system is XP.
