so i want to learn more about computers. what resources would you all suggest? should i try and find a local club? or is the library/bookstore more effective? or is simply experimentation and google enough?
and i do apologize for the extreme, nearly unbearable, newfag nature of this post.

Get yourself an OLD PC and just open it and watch how stuff is connected. Also Disassemble it, so your know how that stuff is build.

Also try howstuffworks.com and http://www.wikihow.com/Category:Computers-and-Electronics

If you also want to know how programs really work your should learn some assembly. (buy *cough* download *cough* Assembly Language Step-by-Step by Jeff Duntemann which is a good starting point)
