Cap Locks display, how to stop

okay, for some reason, the volume meter stopped appearing on my laptop's screen when the volume buttons are pushed. Got with Tech support, they did some stuff, it didn't solve the problem the volume meter appears at first at startup, but then vanishes and doesn't reappear later), but now for some reason, whenever cap locks is pushed, "CAPS LOCK: ON" and "CAPS LOCK: OFF" appear.

That's kind of annoying, but I have no idea how to make it stop. Any ideas?
