Overclocking questions

I wanted myself a little laptop for general use (Internet, music office tasks etc) and being the poorfag I am I couldn't really afford anything major. So I went for the HP 6720s for £300. For the money it's an okay little machine. processor is an intel celeron 540 @ 1.86Ghz, I put 3GB of RAM in it and installed Ubuntu on a secondary partition. (Arch comes next when I finally clear off Vista). One thing that gets to me is that it seems to be a little underpowered, and the fan often comes on when I start to do a lot at once. I read that attempting to overclock a laptop is a poor idea due to heat problems, but would there be any way to get around this problem? Anyone had any experience with this model? Anything upgradeable by any chance?

PROTIP: When you use Ubuntu, you're using a rebranded Debian Sid.
