My Vista killed my Sims

Fucking christ, Vista.

I can't, for the life of me, uninstall The Sims 2 from my fucking PC. I've spent hours trying to delete everything from the registry that I can find. (No, I don't care if I screw up my system, I'm so fucking pissed by now.)

So what happened is I ran out of room on my C: partition and moved it to E:. Okay, fine. But then it tries to update, which it for some reason won't do while it's on E:. So I moved it back and decided to uninstall it. It wouldn't recognize it. So fine, I deleted it and removed the reg files. I later reinstalled the game, only to get the message that it's the 'wrong version' and 'please insert disc t' (and various other ways). I spent ages trying to remove everything. Yet no luck.
