Booting issue on new computer

Name: Anonymous 2008-05-17 14:24

I bought a barebone kit from tigerdirect, I have the system set up. When I press power all the fans spin, but I get no signal to the monitor, and my mouse and keyboard don't receive power. I have tried reseting bios, but this hasn't helped any. I have tried two different PSU both of adequate size(450 and 500), same issue persists.

Guess what, your mainboard is fucked.

it's very unlikely that the PSU is the problem, your problem will probably be somewhere in the software or the hardware of the motherboard

Chances are your VGA card is not properly seated. Lots of times cases can pry on them a bit, feel out your video card a lot, it'll surprise you when it suddenly starts working.

You have mounted your motherboard without standoffs, so it sits directly on the metal and shorts out.
