Hey guys, I made a new computer fairly recently with an ASUS motherboard with built-in SoundMax HD audio, as well as a Creative X-FI Xtreme Audio sound card. Since Creative area bunch of monopolizing bastards, their drivers fuck up some games I try to play, so I must disable the Xtreme and go with the SoundMax.
However, now that those games are finished, I'd like to get back to Creative's much-nicer sounding audio, but with SoundMax's increased microphone volume. I tried setting the two devices are defaults for recording and playback, and having my microphone hooked into the mobo while the speakers are in the sound card, it's not working. What am I doing wrong, other than using a Creative product?
