Look I know jack shit about computers so please explain this to me as simply as possible. Now, A few weeks ago my computer stopped working and I don’t know how to fix it. You see the power button light on the CPU is green and the monitor button light is yellow, but when I press the monitor button it won’t turn green. I remember this happened once before when the CPU was tilted slightly, but I just unplugged it and plugged it back in then it worked. So please help, also tell me if this should be in /r/.

I'm really not sure what you're trying to say

I guess it sux2bu then doesn't it?

don't try to fix it.  just make sure that all the cables in the back of the computer are fastened correctly, unplug the power for both the monitor and the computer.  Then plug them in and try turning them on.  If it works, great, if not, take it to the curb and put a "Free computer" sign on it.

Then go to Dell.com and just buy another one.

What I'm trying to say is that my computer just isn't working, the CPU seems to work fine but the monitor itself doesn't seeem to work. The liottle light on the monitor that is always green when the monitor is on is now yellow and won't change.

alright, real advice this time.

Try a different video card, if that doesn't work, try a different monitor.

Just because the computer turns on, doesn't mean that it's working correctly.  The system may be fine, but you won't know until you can see what's going on.

Come back with more information on how the system behaves when you try different things, or take it to a professional

Also I have a lot of music saved on to my computer so my dad was going to take the CPU to his work to have them copy all the files on there and put them on another CPu. Well I have a folder on there that has porn on it and I don't want him to know about it.

pay close attention to the part about destroying the laptop.  Don't be an idiot when playing with this stuff.

stop tilting your damn CPU.  those things aren't designed to tilt, of course your system doesn't work.

I don't think you're thinking of the CPU here, OP.
The power button is not on the CPU.
There is not a porn folder on the CPU.
If by CPU you mean computer, then phone tech support or something, and come back to /comp/ when you're older.

Is this an elaborate setup for an "if you tilt your motherboard the data will fall off" joke?
