Faulty hard drive?

Name: Gnish 2007-12-20 12:53

Hi. I'm going nuts, every compressed file I have on my hard drive, whether zip, rar, 7z, iso and whatever obvious compressed filetype I'm missing, every single time I download one, it's corrupted to some degree and this is a 100% thing, like, ALL compressed file do it.

I'm totally clueless, but I think it might have something to do with a f****d up hard drive. Does anyone know, or can anyone help?

Thanks!

stop trying to open your compressed files in notepad.  it does not work, and just makes the computer angry.

If it's just one type of file (an archive) and multiple pieces of software can't open it (if you're just using WinRAR, WinZIP might work, indicating a software problem), you could have a virus.
