I'm trying to find a torrent to download a version of Microsoft office, but I remember that there were some versions that just pissed me off with a stupid interface; big ugly buttons etc... rather than just being a basic windows application unlike its predecessors. Which version of Office is the best? Which one is the last one where they used a sane interface?

2007 is ghastly. I fucking hate it with a vengeance. Word 97+ and OpenOffice are okay, but I prefer Abiword as my primary word processor. Only thing it lacks is a grammar checker with error explanations, a OED level spelling dictionary, and a reliable footnote maker. It's fine for elementary school through most Bachelor level college courses. MLA discourages footnotes, anyway.

The only people who dislike 2007 are Officefags who've been using Word since Windows 3.11 and have actually memorized the arcane, unwieldly menu structure and feel that the smoothness of use with which 2007 entails smashes their ego to bits.
