Wireless Lan Card won't read

I have a IBM Thinkpad x24 and was given a D-Link AirPlus DWL-G630 wireless card. I put the drivers on the laptop and its wont even read the card. Any ideas on how to fix it, or should i just buy an orinoco?

OP:Reread what i said,"the configurator comes up and then shuts off." i've tried dling the driver from a few places but it does the same time.
