3 1/2 floppy drive

WILL NOT stop checking itself for a disk. Over and over and over at seemingly random times. Any ideas as to why?

Floppy drives have long since gone the way of the dodo.  I suggest removing it and pulling an office space. Then you can use that space for something somewhat more useful, an example being a dispenser of cleaning wipes for flashlight solar panels.
