Dual Boot Poowweerrr!!

Name: Anonymous 2007-10-29 21:51

I want to boot between my main HDD with XP, and a seperate HDD with W2K. This is just because I have several games that don't function nicely in XP.

I edited my boot.ini file to read like so -

[boot loader]
timeout=3
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptOut
E:\= "Windows 2000 Professional"

Windows 2000 Professional appears on the boot menu, but when I choose it, the computer simply reboots. It doesn't mount the second HDD. Why not? How do I fix it?

Get rid of the "E:\" line - that's for 9x windows

You need to put a line like this:
multi(0)disk(1)rdisk(0)partition(0)\WINNT="Win2k"

replace partition(0) appropriately
