Cable Internet/Network Issue

Name: Anonymous 2007-10-29 11:28

I am having this issue with the wireless internet at my house.

For some retarded reason, the signal can barely stay on for 10 minutes before disconnecting.  However, this only  happened yesterday and was not the case on Saturday.

My wireless network consists of a router connected to a digital phone, and a modem.

I really want to ask, is it my router's (I have a ehome brand, but I can't remember the model #) problem or is it my modem's problem or is it because my damn digital phone is taking so much bandwith?

If there is a problem what should I do?

Change the wireless channel of the router. Most people leave it at the default of 6, so when you get other people in range using the same channel, or devices nearby (think 2.4 gig cordles phones etc) it inteferes. Just change channel until you find one that stays connected.

If you're in the US you've got 3 viable channels: 1, 6, 11. Everything in between overlaps.

Yeah, well, the channel is set to auto so, it doesn't matter. I've also tried disconnecting the phone and tried every possible method, now its worse than before, there is no internet in my house, not even using the ethernet cable does anything at this point.

However, for some really really odd reason, the phone still works, (as it was able to call someone in Asia).

So, any advice before I call comcast tomorrow afternoon?
