Audio Drivers

Name: Anonymous 2007-10-04 5:23

I'm using a Gigabyte M61P-S3 motherboard, and I've tried installing the audio drivers that came on the CD, the drivers from the website, and drivers from another source that were supposed to work. I'm out of ideas. I can't get the audio to work on this damn motherboard with Windows XP. It works fine with linux, so I know the soundcard works.
Is there a program that'll tell me exactly what audio drivers I need, or some generic realtek audio drivers I can use, or something?

You can visit the RealTek site ( http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/ ) and grab copies of the AC'97 drivers, the "High Definition Audio" drivers, or the specific drivers for the chipset your motherboard is running.

Or, if Windows Device Manager claims your audio hardware is unrecognized (the yellow exclamation point beside the device listing), you can try uninstalling the device, rebooting, & letting Windows find it again.
If it asks to search for the drivers, let it do it across ALL available sources (local & online).
Chances are it'll find the drivers on its own.
But if it doesn't, then you can manually install them, reboot, & hope for the best. =)

Hope that helps!
