Vista - gaming problems?

Why do people say that vista is bad for gaming, and how long will it be before it is as good as XP for gaming?

As it is, you have to decide whether you want the new Aero desktop or good gaming performance. Aero requires you to use the drivers Microsoft ships with Vista, but those aren't as optimized as nVidia's or ATI's drivers. If you install the latter, Aero won't work. At least it used to be that way up until the Vista release candidates. Maybe the situation has improved.
