i've got a question and i hope this is the right place to ask.

a friend of mine just called me and told me that all of a sudden, his computer wouldn't let him do anything. he restarted the computer and was prompted for a password. he doesn't use a password.

what should he do?

It sounds like an issue with the sound card, he should probably deactivate the sound RAM because this often asks for a password for it to send data to the CPU for central processing (because it is such a high security facility in order to detain bad clusters).

Well I am not an "mainframe." You have no right to call me that if I made mistakes.  This site should have some rules about harrassments, threats, and name calling.  I am still in the need of more help in that regards
