Screen flashes to black randomly

Name: Anonymous 2007-09-01 20:42 ID:W/ez1/Yc

reinstalling windows from old harddrive failure. Suddenly, my screen likes to "blink"; looks like it goes off, then comes back on. I think it's a redraw problem or driver conflict or some shit. I can right click the "NVIDIA Settings" button on the toolbar on the bottomright of the screen to get it to go to black at will

How do I fix?

Hahaha, oh wow.

Install the latest drivers. If you have those already, try an older version.

That happens with my LCD monitor everytime I right click -> Nvidia CP or enter into Advanced display settings. I've come to live with it, as I'm pretty sure it's just my LCD monitor playing up. Annoying as hell, though.

Sounds like an inconsistent problem, as described.  Try changing video drivers (especially since you just reinstalled Windows and are having problems now), testing with other monitors or video cables, monitor power cable, monitor power supply, etc.

Sounds consistent relative to user action.
