But seriously microsoft what have you done... wait nvr mind it was expected of you, it's like they just gave XP a face lift, i wonder if the same guy that made the Hot Pocket theme song advised the creation of vista as well.

I am visually impaired, and I have one thing to say about vista. Ease of access my ass.
The accessibility software is a joke! With XP, the default magnifier works with the games. On Vista, the magnification software doesn’t work. It’s not like visually impaired people play games anyway! The GUI sucks! It’s an OS, not a fucking kid’s game!
For screen reading software, blind people need two screen readers which cost about $1500 for both of them.
Finally, I will impart my favourite piece of computing advice: Use Linux, it contains less FAT!

although im glad that the open source community can help you with your visually impaired computer needs for the low, low price of free i have to disagree with windows fat
I've been using linux for several years now and i have never used a major standard distro(red hat, debian, slackware, etc.) because of all the massive bloatware going on
i dont need 5 ftp clients and eighteen ways to configure a network card
as for vista get fucking used to it. windows' monopoly is no longer as strong as it was, but they're here to stay for awhile
Vista is the new standard so deal

The only thing I'm really sad is that when I finnally have to switch over to Vista, and that ghastly-looking glossy Mac-like GUI.
Maybe I could never put Vista at all and skip to the next one.
Then again, the next one is probably worse.

Meh, not for another half a year or so. Hardware needs to get faster/cheaper/more reliable. For example, have you recently tried to acquire a reasonably priced DX10 graphics card whose features actually all work as they should. I'm not even beginning to talk about companies.

Any info about the uninstallable file in Vista?
And for how long do you think that we XP:ers can do with "only" XP?

Vista is as much the news standard as ME was. It's here for a year or 2 until M$ wake-the-fuck-up.

I think quite a while. There's a lot you can do with XP that will still be useful many years down the road. Boo hoo you won't be able to play the latest games, but you'll still be able to compose documents, burn cds/dvds, run Photoshop, use the myriad of audio programs, surf the web, and a shitload of other really useful stuff.

Skip Vista. Wait for the next OS. Show Microsoft they can push us too far. XP is good enough for now.
