Is there something missing with your computer experience that Vista will make up for?  Make a list of what you think Vista would do for you, and post it.

Oh, don't forget to sandpaper head off. That's the cure for wanting Vista.

Vista makes decent computers run like shit. Essentially, you'll get more value out of your hardware if you stick with xp. and vista doesn't do anything cool as far as I can tell...

SRSLY, anyone thinking of going to Vista (which seems to require a min 256M of RAM, WTF?) should either stick with XP, or just accept the real future and load up with an off-the-shelf version of Linux.  For the money, just buy a copy of Redhat; you get support and a great OS.

Microsoft has REALLY tried to fuck our asses this time.  Fuck them back.  Sure, they'll probably strongarm the businesses into upgrading, but with all that DRM crap, you really ought to think carefully about letting such controls onto your computer.

For those of you who "have to" upgrade (either by buying a new computer with no XP option, or work requirements), then I wish you well.  All omelets require the breaking of at least a few eggs.

There is one good feature that Vista has that Xp doesnt that should be ported to XP but wont be. In vista it does what OSX does and pre categorizes everythign on your HD so that you can instantly search for whatever you want without having to watch the retarded puppy laugh in your face for 5 minutes. Not worth buying Vista for, but a good feature non the less.

Everyone said this about XP when it came out, and they fixed all the problems in SP2 give it time, I agree Linux is the future, but the gaming and software development corps still refuse to make apps for it, and its even worse now than ever due to the shit that happened with Doom 3. Id is full of retards thinking that they can port a game over to an OS with a creative commons liscense for everything made to run on it and expect people to pay for it. When they took it to court they lost because of the Linux User agreement, so dont expect Linux to get too much in the future from any company. Its too bad really.

Having browsed 4chan for about 3 years now, I can say there are probably more than a few people who would actually prefer the former option.

REDHAT?  Are you a fucking ass?  Seriously, no wonder I keep hearing you're a gigantic faggot.  gb2ina

It's funny...everything that Vista does, my linux installs have done for years now.  For free and on almost any hardware you can imagine.

Also, id is  terrible company that makes bad engines and worse games.  Epic has been doing quite well for themselves, you might note.

Linux can run DirectX 10? Whoaa!!!!

Heh, actually the WINE team's been making pretty good headway on this.  Don't worry, they've even stated that they'll generously pass it back to your ungrateful XP-using asses.  Cuntmouth.

PS: DirectX is terrible shit (at least it doesn't cause huge performance hits anymore).

No, I'm not a fucking ass.  You buy that Redhat box, you get support.  Some people like that.  At any rate, the OP can make those decisions for himself, once duly advised.

In your particular case, I'm sure the OP can come to the decision all on his own that you're a complete horsecock.

>you're a complete horsecock.

HAHAHAHAHA~  This coming from the guy suggesting a distro that still relies on RPMs.  I mean fuck, talk about cold.  I'd recommend SLED over the atrocity that is RHEL's continued existence.

Try using the toolset and it should become readily apparent.

Epic has made a total of 2 games, Gears and the UT franchise. granted teh UT franchise spans more than one game it is still ultimately the same game.

Secondly I was not referring to the gameplay in doom 3 which you so aptly decided to attack, I was referring to how the linux users ruined their own reputations with the creative commons liscense that they fight to protect. Granted it is a great Idea, but in the greed driven video game industry a creative commons lisecense is the last thing that the developers want to deal with when it comes to game distribution. They already have to deal with Illegal pirating they dont want legal sharing happening. That was all I was pointing out. You can attack doom3 all you want it is a terrible game.

{dryly} Oh, yeh, that must be why there's an "RPM WARNING" sticker on every Redhat box.  Now, I know!

Twitcock.  My advice stands.  RPMs or not, you get support.  Some people like that.
